Video Compressor

Shrink a video file for sharing or storage — no upload, no account.

Drop a video here, or browse

MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI — up to 1 GB

Compressed entirely in your browser — the video file is never uploaded anywhere. Large files take longer and use more memory; if a compression fails, try a shorter clip or a smaller compression level.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Upload a video

Drag a video file in, or browse for one on your device.

  2. Step 2

    Pick a level

Choose how much smaller you need it — quality trades off against size.

  3. Step 3

    Download the result

Compression runs in your browser, then the file saves to your device.

Choosing a level

Light keeps the original resolution and just tightens the encoding. Balanced, Strong and Maximum also cap the resolution (1080p, 720p and 480p) — the bigger the size reduction, the more visible the trade-off in quality. If the source is already smaller than a level's cap, it is left at its own size; nothing is ever scaled up.
